Even if he got 10kg's allowance he wouldn't have beaten Fourie. One is the best jockey in the Cape and the other is still a kid learning but he gave it every chance in the running and Richards strength probably won him the race but still a good run from Al Wahed.

am i right in saying COT CAMPBELL made heavy work of that win last time at prohibitive odds of 4/10...didn't Bernard have to get stuck into this horse to get going ? or is my memory up to shit ?

Elvis Cot Campbell won easing down LTO. You're probably thinking of Kasimir who won at a similar price but was made to work for it.

It's been a great day's racing -- enjoyed the comments from all as well, as always very insightful, and helpful in making last minute fine tuning. Currently I am not wagering --- waiting for the better competition to come around. The hundreds of maiden races are helpful for completing my standard time charts for the different tracks, but not for wagering
Cot Campbell is one of those horses that gives me nothing to work on in terms of theoretical numbers, speed or money. The one angle on which it's very strong is "First Time In A Handicap" - you can usually be quite successful off that angle on it's own. Of course at 6/10 it's just for entertainment value, and for penciling in the form factors for future races.
Excluding that one - the core of exposed speed is found with Aviemore, Best Nut Ever, and Storm Front. I give Storm Front the edge on speed from these two, Apollo Star gets the nod from a money perspective.
Cot Campbell to win from Storm Front and Apollo Star

Small nibble on Bobby Dazzler and the Crawford swinger, but would LOVE Rocketeer to win it for my P6

It's a little bewildering. These young horses being given hard challenges, and obviously hyped up on the market boards. to the casual observer there is no visible reason to be so confident that they will meet these challenges.
In any event -- Money in the form of stakes won wins again, about the 4th or 5th race won today on the back of the money indicator - who said it wasn't a form indicator
