First Indian owned horse

Just need some help. Wasn't Sea Bird the first racehorse to be Indian owned? Was it the Naidoos or Sewgoolams?

Sea Bird could be right and i also remember Eugenie......a lonnnnngggg time ago.The Naidoos it was.Sea Bird ran in the Gold Gup at Greyville...

You probably will find that this was the first official "Indian" owned horse, but due to the hairybacks many horses raced under the lap before this one

Bob, may I ask on which site you got this info from?

I've been looking for race records of horses in the late 80's early 90's...

the posters name is bahadur which was owned by the meakers and trained by sonny whiteford as well as sea bird was
