I was amazed to hear that Rockin Russian was excluded by the panel- I had assumed she was withdrawn by connections as there is no way that her exclusion can be justified.
A travesty indeed.

ugh, this post was supposed to have been a "thank you"

Rockin Russian remains on MR 90, and in terms of the log should be treated as 95 with the fillies allowance.
The log was only ever shown in MR order- there was never any indication that any horses were given any other interim log position .

I cannot fathom what CTS is trying to achieve - Surely you want to sell racehorses that win and place in GRADED RACES not cotton-balled horses that aim to win a protected race that does not affect the stud book - How can a horse, that has placed in graded company, ever be excluded so as to advance runners that could only wish to run in listed company at best - If I were a buyer I would not support this sales company

.....many potential buyers stayed away from this company before this latest fiasco.....yet they are all there now to grab a bargain....the upping of big prize money for these races was to stick out TBA/BSA and ensure a monopoly....now it wont last for long....they may have the attention of the buyers..... but many wont part with their tom....bigger and better bargains are still to come....

This is what I have found out in general and in my own words -

1)The CTS boys were not on the panel.

2)The panel was a combined one from NHA handicappers, and from Operators- Vee Moodley, Jay Harrilal. Clyde Basel was not on the panel.

3)MR is not the final deciding factor when getting to the final fields. It is one of variuos factors.

4)The panel takes current form into consideration in their attempt to get the best possible field in the race. For example, the connections of Deo Juvente should also feel aggrieved at not getting into the Met. This is no doubt why they bought the horse in the first place. But, in spite of being , maybe, the 4th or 5th highest rated horse in SA, the horse never got into the Met. This was probably based upon poor recent runs.....IMHO.....

5)It is also my own opinion that maybe because Rockin Russian is on the way down the ratings ( dropped from 99 to 90), and is not currently running anywhere near to the best rating achieved, is why the horse never made the field.

In closing, these are my opinions, based on limited info and knowlege at my disposal. Ultimately, you have my empathy because you did not get in. Lets hope that it turns around and Rockin Russian goes on to win many more for you.

Is Larry still CEO? I thought it was Leaf? Can’t he not help?

....Larry is CEO and is paid to serve on behalf of owners in matters such as these.....Mr Leaf is the Chairman of the RA Board.....not his job to act in place of CEO....
