SPECIFIC OFFENCES (PROHIBITED PRACTICES) - NHRA

I see a trainer got fined 7.7k for swearing at some owners

72.1.11 interfere with, threaten or intimidate an OWNER, TRAINER or RIDER of any HORSE or an employee in any racing stable in connection with horse racing;

Yet a company, Mayfair Speculators ,that has been accused of "naked fraud" and has caused the NHRA to approach trade unions to protect The Met is not charged or suspended under rule

72.1.26 behave or conduct himself in such a manner which has or might have the effect of discrediting horse racing or which does or might bring into disrepute the good name of the NATIONAL HORSERACING AUTHORITY, a RACING OPERATOR, any training establishment, the ACADEMY, the STEWARDS or members of any committee of the NATIONAL HORSERACING AUTHORITY or any INQUIRY BOARD, APPEAL BOARD, INQUIRY REVIEW BOARD, the LICENSING BOARD, any OBJECTION BOARD or any RACING OPERATOR or any official of the NATIONAL HORSERACING AUTHORITY or RACING OPERATOR;

When the NHRA has to negotiate with Unions because of the actions-( not alleged -money was moved out of Mayfair to deceive creditors) and has to suddenly field questions from non-racing journalists who paint racing in a bad but true light. How can they not invoke this rule. To say that Jooste is no longer a director of Mayfair is simply not good enough- He used Mayfair as an instrument to defraud the banks now that company still trades without sanction.... I bet my bottom dollar that if Van Vuuren had not sold out and that scandal broke the NHRA would have hauled him in pronto. I am not one for the "innocent until proven guilty" defense that so many rely on because they either have some loyalty to this company or believe that Jooste's silence means he is humbly waiting for the truth to come out which will exonerate him for his little "mistakes" (was it a mistake to move 1.5 billion to a holding company just before that FAKE NEWS GERMAN publication published on Steinhoff?) The big MISTAKE here is the NHRA still playing favourites when the rest of the World can see the horse is dead and buried. Absa and the rest are not taking JOOSTE to court but Mayfair yet they retain their privileges.

Mr H - are you a SPECULATOR too now...? (lol)

As you said "accused" and then u say that Jooste has left the Company. Yip, NHA must punish Jooste....but they cannot because he has handed in his own colours, resigned etc... they cannot punish his partner for his actions , surely ?

NHA are simply sticking to their rules/constitution and to the laws and constitution of the land.

If they are NOT doing this on the MJ issue, instead of quoting their rules and putting your own spin on them, please give is real examples of where others have been treated differently. I think that would be more enlightening than the ongoing bitter attacks on MJ and NHA....

lG -is MJ the only director of Mayfair? So the other Director/s thought it prudent to allow 1.5 Billion to be paid out to a shell company and they are still in control of Mayfair? So he has stepped down as a director of the company - help me here because I don't actually know - is he still not a shareholder in that Company(Mayfair) or has he sold the shares to somebody else ? I'm sorry but in all my racing life there has never been anyone that I know of that has brought more negative attention to Racing and the NHRA who are being cast in a poor light - Maybe the closest thing was the shooting of Sea Cottage -

Is there not a Rule which says that only the owners' colors can be used unless they are unavailable and only then can club colors be used with the permission of the stipes ?

PSA: ‘COMPLETE COLLAPSE’ OF CORPORATE GOVERNANCE AT STEINHOFF

CAPE TOWN - The Public Servants Association (PSA) says it wants regulators to determine the criminal liability of Steinhoff's former CEO Markus Jooste.

It says a preliminary review of company documents has shown ‘complete collapse’ of corporate governance at Steinhoff.

It says there are suggestions that there was ‘real maladministration’ in Steinhoff's tax system.

Steinhoff’s documents were handed over to the PSA and Fedusa last week after a meeting in Stellenbosch.

The company is under investigation in South Africa and in Germany.

Steinhoff lost R194 billion in value in the fallout of those allegations and the PSA says it may have cost the Public Service Pension Fund R12.5 billion.

This comes as the National Horse Association CEO Lyndon Barends says they have to distant themselves from Jooste.

Last week the PSA threatened to disrupt the Sun Met horse racing event at Kenilworth if Jooste's horses were not withdrawn.

#Steinhoff The Public Servants Association to brief media on action plan for #Sunmet horse race and preliminary findings on Steinhoff investigation. GLS

Love this -
The NHA with the PSA and its allies agreed to stage a Solidarity parade to empathise with all those who lost some or all of their investments in the Steinhoff-Markus Jooste saga.

I wonder if anyone knows who the shareholders(NOT DIRECTORS) of Mayfair are - I never quite got far enough in my uncompleted Law Degree to reach the Company Law Modules but is it plausable and correct that a director can resign but still keep his shares in a Company -

It appears to be a contagious disease...this bitter hatred of Jooste...it ignores basic facts, is hell bent on ignoring normal legal procedures/precedents and most of all, it abandons the age old wisdom attained through simple COMMON SENSE.

Sometimes, its SIMPLY better to just move on....or buy a mouthwash to erase the bitter taste ...or get a cure for the stuck gramophone...

Either /or, let the courts do their jobs in due process and move on with your own life in the meantime, surely ? Or maybe suck a cactus instead ?
