Best Bet of the Day, Race 4: Matthew Lips...

This horse wins it's debut and only going late at the course over 1200m, definitely looking for the 1400m. But that's just based on the last run, what else in its favour is the following:.....he is 7.5 kg better off with top weight, that in theory is a 10 length swing if merit ratings are to be true. But as a line of form, Caribbean Day was running in races with 78 merit ratings, etc...in that race Matthew Lips carried 55kg and still beat it by a head, so in theory he can race with Flamingo merit rated 70 horses easily.

What is really the standout analysis for me is Matthew Lips last Greyville Poly run over 1400m. All of the top 3 have been winners, and all of the top 6 have run in the money. The horse Toltec which finished behind Matthew Lips has also ran a third and a win, of which he beat a certain Eddie Sweat, which came out to win a competitive race on Friday night.

15/10 should actually be 1/1 money in my book.....take what u can.

To take my bet up to 23/10, I added Joeys Joy in The first for a place, in its first run at the course it ran third and just behind the favourite of this race. Muzi up, might not win as the favourite also has a plum draw, but the form is weak and has run some fair races at the Vaal so definitely a place chance.

Very coltish rig but have ability and working very well. Got scratched 2 weeks ago but we still cannot find any problem.if he can get his mind on the right job he can run a blinder.

Will go very close and can win again over a more preferred distance but Notacademicatall hard to beat and i still rate him better than his current Merit rating.

Saddle slipped last week .ignore that run. Never tried this distance so its a learning curve for is also.

Working very well but a hot headed mare. First run on sand and hope its a big run although its a little short the 1400m

Poor form but working better than she shows on track.

Can upset if running to ability in very open race. Expect upsets here!!

Have upset potential but need to regain earlier form. Plenty pace if in the mood.

Always upset runner and will fly at them .

If it was 1400m like last week he would smash them again but i expect him to get that 10th win
