Is my smart phone really that smart

....I have not been anywhere near Turffontien since I have my new phone....nor have I ever googled the place....other than streaming races from there and have never typed that location on the phone in any forum....yet it keeps on giving me a weather forecast for the area.... :S

....and even spookier....are the devices sharing info.... :blink: .....get a message on how I rate my visit to the park....or photo opp at Mandela Square.....office is near there.....this I understand....yet my tablet does not get out and about.....is asking me same questions..... :huh:

Muthi, I turned my location information off... I was getting messages to rate my visit to a specific shop inside the shopping center :woohoo: ...... Irritated the crap out of me, but was also amazed it could locate me to a specific shop...

Are you logged in on all devices with the same gmail account (or similar)? That's why that happens.

Ever noticed how you might google something and then some websites you visit, for a while after you will see their ads on other pages? That's called remarketing and retargeting (this is also done via email and websites using cookies).
