"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon Session' Friday 4 July Workings.

Afternoon.
This afternoon completed and went as follows.
The 1st runner we wanted 1.2 and with being around 1.31 on arrival and although dropping down, the price only came down as low as 1.21 and not a penny matched at our lay price, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so good discipline and a good leave...
The 2nd runner we wanted 3.2 and with being around 3.5 on arrival and not dropping down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid another race. The runner was beaten and so 'one that got away in hindsight'.......
The 3rd runner we wanted 2.6 and with drifting to around 2.64 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 2.6 max. The lay went and won well, so made layers look idiots and the way it goes......
The 4th runner we wanted 2.5, but a non runner and 2.6% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.46. There was then another non runner and further 3.4% reduction and so now we wanted a lay price of 2.41 (2.4 nearest exchange price). The price was a well supported 2.04 on arrival and so we had a lay at 2.04. The lay went and won, so the way it goes........
The 5th runner we wanted 2.8 and with being around 3.45 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage after emails were sent, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so yet another favourite goes in, but this time it was a good leave......
The 6th runner we wanted 3.3, but a non runner and 6.7% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.15. There was then another non runner and further 3% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 3.09 (3.1 nearest exchange price). The price was around 2.94 on arrival and so we had a lay at around 2.94. The lay was beaten and so a good result.....
The 7th runner we wanted 1.8 and with being a very well supported 1.65 and shortening on arrival, we had a lay at 1.65 max. The lay went and won, so the way it goes. Traders did get their trade back prices in running, so got away with it......
The 8th and final runner we wanted 1.7, but a non runner and 3.8% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 1.67. There was then another non runner and further 4.1% reduction and so now we wanted a lay price of 1.64. The price was around 1.73 on arrival and never came down to us at any stage, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so a good leave.........
WELL BATTLED................(4 from the first 5 (80%) went and won - and 5 from the 8 (62.5%) and so another tough session for us, but we did all that we could and so well battled)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Had to concede 2 targets.........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 3rd runner and after a big battle all session, they ended up stopping after their 4th lay (the 7th runner) where they conceded 2 targets...
'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 3rd runner) at 2.6 max, but a poor result see them go behind early........They then had their 2nd lay (the 4th runner) at 2.04 max, but another poor result see them go further behind.......They then had their 3rd lay (the 6th runner) at 2.94 and a good result see them win a chunk back..........They then had their 4th lay (the 7th runner) at 1.65 max, but a poor result see them give some back again and 4 runner builders ended the session conceding 2.5 targets.....5 runner builders got no more play and so they ended the session conceding 2 targets...

'Traders' had to concede a little on the 3rd runner at 2.6 max, the 4th runner at 2.04 max, and although all others see them win a bit or break level, they still had to make do with a little loss, so unlucky guys, but oh so hard with all those winners..
So yet another tough session with the favourite's winning much more than their fair share, but although we had to give a little back this afternoon, we still could've ended up much worse and so we limited the damage well enough. I'm off out this evening, so hope it goes well and speak in the morning..
Marc.
