"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon Session' Friday 11 July Workings.
16 years 11 months ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed and went as follows:
The 1st runner we wanted 1.5 and with being around 1.56 on arrival, dropping down to 1.5 and only £9 being matched (several thousand at 1.52), then drifting right back out again, we never see our lay price at any stage really, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten and so we were so desperately unlucky not to get our lay price, but it's thin lines we play and this time we were on the wrong side of it. How frustrating was that! Anyhow, 'one that got away in hindsight' it was.........just.....
The 2nd runner we wanted 3.1 and with being around 2.96 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.96. The race is over 40 minutes away and only a bit of trading left on offer, so I'm going to pass that up and concentrate fully on a few things, mainly this evening's racing, so good luck traders and speak soon...
'Rolling' strategy/target 4 runner players (no 'free' lays for them) see the 1st runner go by as a no play race, and with that leaving them with an insufficient amount left to start a strategy, they look towards this evening instead.
'Bank building' strategy/target (4 runner only) players also had no play after the 1st runner was a no play race, so they too will look towards this evening's session for some action.
'Traders' have had no play as yet, unless they were part of the £9 on the 1st runner, which I very much doubt, so good luck with the remainder..
So a dull session, but we'll take our satchels into this evening and try to nick a few quid. Good luck trading the remainder, but I'll take the time to do a few things and get this evening sorted. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings.
Marc.

Good morning.
The workings for this afternoon's session as follows:
2.15 York. YOURGUNNABELUCKY (1.56)
Our price 8/11 (1.727) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.5 or under we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware, that although he's very lightly raced,he did show prominently on debut, therefore no surprise to see the same tactics applied today. Also please note that more emphasis has had to go on the early markets for clues concerning this race*
3.00 Ascot. GOODWOOD STARLIGHT (2.96)
Our price 12/5 (3.4) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.1 or under.
3.35 Ascot. ROARING FORTE (3.0)
Our price 12/5 (3.4) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.1 or under.
4.20 Newmarket. MEASUREMENT (2.78)
Our price 21/10 (3.1) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.8 or under.
All the races were priced up, with non runners taken into account, up until 10.01am.
That's all we have to work around for this afternoon then. A session that's short on short priced favourite's and rife with big priced favourite's in Handicaps, so not too much to work around and no room at all for any error early on. The non runners have appeared to have dried up now, so we'll go from here, and although no play for 5 runner strategists, they'll sit it out ad wait for this evening's session where we have enough by the looks of it.
We do have enough about us to go into battle, but with a tough looking start it does make life that bit more awkward. Anyhow, we'll approach the session confidently and with discipline to the maximum. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings.
