Hello I am off to the wonderful Salisbury track this evening to have a bet on two horses. In the first race Makabal and in the second the favourite Star something or other. My daughter will be picking me up round 4 to drive me to the track. While I am trying to get a few winners she will most probably be going to some fancy restuarant for some good nosh. I am hoping young Steff will be at the track tonight. Two weeks ago we had a right laugh and tonight if she is there I am going to ask her out for a date. She lives in the old age home just outside Salisbury so I am hoping that they do not impose some kind of curfew on her. I am enjoying our lads giving the South African boys a run for their money at Lords. Salisbury casts the mind back many a year when I was once a Lemon Drop Kid. I made a few shillings and often a few quid in the old days. It was hard work trying to remember which horse I tipped up to which well dressed gentleman. After a few months of it I became very good and the tips were of a substantial amount. Once horse racing is in your veins the only way that it goes away is when you are dead I presume. One big tip is never become inebriated when punting because it will be the end of your money for that day.
