Match Race?

.......this WSB saga just goes on and on......never seen goal posts moved to so many different positions
.....and the trainer of Soldier on has a legitimate gripe.....for him the posts are just too far.....when is far enough...... going to be much too much......never seems to be a middle ground with PHUM......hardly are they ever accommodating ......and now just plain over compensating.......:S

Maybe SP feels his horse don't have a winning chance against TD....but what the heck race for the 250k

Hi guys. My opinion is he entered and agreed to run the horse at the vaal as was happy initially why the sudden disapproval of the venue. And regarding where the horses ran there last race and which course shouldnt matter as the next race soldier on runs in will not have every horse he meets that ran there last race on the same course and distance.

This is just my opinion if I understand his gripe correctly. Please let me know if I am incorrect.

If Stuart Pettigrew does not want to race Soldier On in the match race, let Big Mistake who won the consolidation race run in his place, his time was faster than both legs winners.

In my opinion Pettigrew entered, accepted and ran Soldier On in the WSB, he was well aware if his horse wins he will be competing in the match race. The meeting was scheduled for the Vaal at first and he accepted it, now he doesn't want to race his horse in the match race, what a load of bullshit!!

Tsitsikama Dance vs Big Mistake... please!! Let those two horses run, the public wants too see a match race between the two best grass horses over 1475m in Gauteng!

......what ever happened to the horses for courses angle.....why should the so called stake holders that provide the goods to make racing happen..... be taken on a joy ride for the sake of fancy footwork to appease a sponsor who was actually jibbed out of the initial extravaganza by p!ss poor planning though basic bad track management.....and now a song and dance together with the pony show just to cover up this gross and continuous incompetence......it is truly sickening.....is it perhaps because it fails to now fall into the amended racing programme..... only to be back at the very track .....the scene of the original crime....:sick:

.....had the race been run where it was originally planned.....the match race would not have been....also
doubt that Soldier On would have featured either as he seems to have a running style more suitable to the cover provided racing around a bend.....made him a big runner when venue was changed.....and the trainer knew it too.....match racing provides no cover unless one can stalk the the other on the fence.....at the Vaal there is nothing but daylight .....and Soldier On may not be able to soldier on doubt if he will even pick up the bit.....

Why don't they just settle for a straw-draw competition - and sell tickets to the event - and get Betting World involved - then the winner can win a cow as well; I have a feeling they will get just as many spectators as they would for this match race

This is so stupid...why waste time having a match race at the Vaal... maybe you will get 10 extra people there... move it to the course where the races were run and at least you will have more people at the track...
