Buiteperd on Showmax: My Horse Racing Short Film

So earlier this year I submitted a concept for a short film to Kyknet which was picked up.

The movie I wrote is based on horse racing, and is sort of the story of my life.

If any of you have 22 minutes to kill, you are welcome to check out "Buiteperd" (The outsider) currently showing on Showmax.

It is in Afrikaans, but there are subtitles.

Perhaps the movie will resonate with fellow punters. :)

Thanks!

The guys from phumelela were thankfully very helpful in providing us with some racing footage free of charge.

I also play the lead role because no actor will be able to understand what it feels like losing a shit load of money on the horses quite the way I do... lol!

Cant remeber the actual song but its humming in my head?

Yep, that sounds about right! The thrill of winning, (or probably Losing) a bet is almost more enjoyable than not betting all!

If i remember its about adrenaline as long as you are "punting" you remain in that space where highs and lows are equal.
