Lovers of The Beautiful Game are in for a treat with SPORTSLIVE, an exciting new soccer television channel, going live soon in all Tab and Betting World Shops.
The brand-new sports channel will offer exclusive soccer programming and games from the French, Brazilian, Asian, Spanish and English leagues as well as the never before seen South African five-a-side Premier Futsal League.
The official launch of the new Premier Futsal League will take place on 1 February to coincide with the launch of SPORTSLIVE, with the first official matches being played on 7 February.
For those who don’t know, Futsal is the only five-a-side format of football recognised by FIFA.
Futsal is played on courts similar in size to basketball courts and has become famous for being an exciting, fast-paced game in which a lot of goals are scored.
It does not compete with football, but serves to support it by developing players’ skills.
Futsal encourages athletes to become faster, stronger, and more agile while improving their balance. It also helps youngsters become more comfortable with the ball and gives them lots of opportunities to practice passing, dribbling, turning, shooting and ball control – all whilst under pressure.
Compared to football, Futsal demands that players are more versatile - playing in every position on the field during the course of a game. Futsal players are not labelled as defenders, midfielders or attackers like they are in football.
Many of the top footballers worldwide played Futsal as children and credit it with supporting their skills development. South American legends like Pele, Zico, Ronaldinho, and Lionel Messi, to name but a few, as well as European superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Deco and Xavi have played Futsal to develop their skills.
The South African Premier Futsal League will be broadcast live and exclusive in Tab/Betting World outlets daily from 7 February 2019.
SPORTSLIVE promises to offer soccer lovers a feast of live matches daily from 09:30 on which a number of bets can be placed, as they will be included in the very popular Soccer 4 and Soccer 6 pools.
As an added bonus, payouts for the Futsal soccer pools will be made on the day of the games.
As the exclusive broadcaster of the Premier Futsal League, these matches can only be watched in all Tab and Betting World Shops – free of charge.

SPORTSLIVE, an exclusive in-store TV channel in TAB and Betting World shops, and the Premier Futsal League (PFL) kicked off this morning and instantly added a new dimension to betting on soccer with TAB and Betting World.

Collectively they enable TAB and Betting World soccer customers to take a bet in the morning, watch all the games live in store and collect their winnings in the afternoon.

The ability to bet, watch and collect winnings in just a few hours have transformed TAB and Betting World stores into a paradise for soccer fans that cannot be experienced in any other betting shop.

The core soccer product shown on SPORTSLIVE for the next few weeks will be Premier Futsal League (PFL) matches played at the Rustic Indoor Soccer Fields in Fourways.


The PFL is a brand-new league comprising eight teams. The PFL is an associate member of the Soweto Indoor Futsal Association (SIFA).

Futsal is soccer on steroids. It’s a high-speed, high-action game played across two halves, each comprising 20 minutes, and the skill and fitness levels of the eight PFL teams are dazzling.

It’s great to watch and even better to bet on!

There will be eight consecutive PFL matches daily Monday to Friday with the first game kicking off at 9:30 and the last at 14:45.

As from today, TAB will operate one Soccer 6 pool and two Soccer 4 pools on PFL matches every day.

Soccer 4 Pool 1 is always on the first four matches (M1-M4) and Soccer 4 Pool 2 on matches five to eight (M5-M8). The Soccer 6 pool is on matches three to eight (M3-M8).

And, as a special introductory bonus, TAB is adding R5,000 to the Soccer 6 Futsal pool and both Soccer 4 Futsal pools Monday through Thursday this week.

And this Friday TAB will add R10,000 to each of the three pools so be sure to play because the payouts will be inflated!
