"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon Session' Tuesday 5 August Workings.

Afternoon.

This afternoon's session completed, and went as follows:

The 1st runner we wanted 1.2, and with being around 1.3 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so a surprise result and 'one that got away in hindsight'.....

The 2nd runner we wanted 3.0, but a non runner and 4.2% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.92. There was then another non runner and further 11.8% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 2.69. The price was around 2.3 on arrival and shortening (went odds on), so we had a lay at 2.3 max. The lay looked in trouble, but battled well to get the win, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......

The 3rd runner we wanted 3.1, and with being around 2.88 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.88. The price then went for a walk out to our own price of 3.4 and beyond, so a chance for builders and traders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result.....

The 4th runner we wanted 2.4, but a non runner and 11.8% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.23. The price was around 2.16 on arrival and so we had a lay at around 2.16. The lay went and won, so the way it goes......

The 5th and final runner we wanted 1.66, and with drifting to around 1.77 on arrival and only getting bigger and bigger, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift more than justified and beat race to race players to the punch. Grr. Early traders happy though........

WELL BATTLED......(2 from the first 4 (50%) went and won, so tricky, but it was a case of it 'just not falling for us' this afternoon)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (4 runner players only: no 'free' lays for them) Conceded 0.8 of a target......They started their 1st strategy/target on the 2nd runner, and they ended up finished after their 3rd lay at 0.8 down, so they end the session conceding 0.8 of a target at worst....

'Bank building' strategy/target players (4 runner builders only) had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 2.3 max, but a poor result see them go behind early........They then had a 'free' lay (the 3rd runner) that bought a tiny profit..........They came their 2nd lay (the 4th runner) at 2.16 max, but a poor result see them go further adrift.........That's where they finished the session, so they concede 2 targets at the very worst..

Bank builder 5 runner players never got any play, so they obviously walk away levels.

Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target players. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100.

1st lay £100 to win as much of the £100 target @ 2.3 max. Result negative. Lose £100

Total bank now £300

'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £10

Total bank now £310

2nd lay £103 to recoup as much of the £90 @ 2.16 max. Result negative. Lose £103

Total bank now £206

That's where they finished.

Overall result. Concede 2 targets at very worst.

'Traders' had to concede a little on the 4th runner at 2.16 max, but all others see them break level or win a bit, so they walk away either level, or a shade down and they'll take that and look ahead to tomorrow.

So no play for 5 runner builders and rollers, and they'll be very happy with that, but those that took the chance on a 4 runner basis had to concede a little with nothing going right for them. So frustrating as a session, but it happens and the way it goes. No evening racing for us this evening, so a nice evening off to enjoy other things. Speak in the morning guys.

4.45 Chepstow. PRINCE AFRAM (1.7)

Our price 10/11 (1.9) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.66, or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware, that although lightly raced, he has shown a tendency to race prominently. Also please note that a little more emphasis has had to go on the early markets for clues, concerning this race*

All the races were priced up, with non runners taken into account, up until 10.25am.

That's all we have to work around for this afternoon then. Sorry for the mails being a little later than usual, but ground changes due to the rain held us up a bit, and always best to be as sure as we can before committing ourselves. Anyhow, tricky and testing, especially with no room at all for any error early doors, but we have enough about us to take the satchels into play, so discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon.
