Trainer Comments and Nadine’s selections

RACE 1 :

1st four selections

3 / 2 / 6 / 10

• TARA LAING - Number 2 - THOMAS SHELBY : He has got a chance on his
good local debut if he takes well to the local Poly.

• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 3 and 7 - ANDREA & TUNGSTEN : Andrea showed
good improvement in his last, similar again is hoped for. Tungsten has
her first run for the yard and could need it.

GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 4 and 8 - CROISADE DE VERITE & COMET PATH :
Croisade de Verite can place. Comet Path is speedy, she does have
behavioral issues though.

DUNCAN MCKENZIE - Number 5 - THOMAS TUCKER : He has his first run
after the gelding and needed both his first run and the gelding. He is
a nice horse, improvement is expected and he can run into quartets.

JUAN NEL - Number 10 - VIVID RED : She’s a diminutive filly, but she
is quick and if she can sustain her pace, she can run well.

RACE 2 :

1st four selections

1 / 5 / 3 / 4

• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 4, 5 and 6 - VIVIR, OUTLANDOS d’AMOUR &
SEATTLE OAK : Vivir is consistent, her one run on Poly so far was good
and she can earn. Outlandos d’Amour makes her Poly debut, she won her
last well and is working very well. Seattle Oak tries the blinkers, we
are hoping for improvement.

• JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 7 - TRAVEL IN STYLE : Up in class, she
does look to have a tough task.

RACE 3 :

1st four selections

9 / 2 / 3 / 1

•DUNCAN MCKENZIE - Number 3 - DIVINE LAW : He will enjoy the cut
back in trip and can place.

• ALAN GREEFF - Number 9 - ROCK ALOE : He ran well on debut and has
a winning chance.

SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 1 and 10 - CRADLEOFGRATITUDE & VIBERMATIC :
Cradleofgratitude has his first run after a break, he is better than
his last but could just need it. Vibermatic has his first run back
after the gelding, he could find this a touch short still, but is
expected to run an improved race.

GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 4 and 8 - ROCKS AND DAGGERS & PARAHELIO ALLEY
: Rocks and Daggers is always thereabouts. Parahelio Alley bled in his
last, improvement is expected and he has a quartet chance.

MONTANA TURNER - Number 5 - LOST MONARCH : He is improving with each
run and hopefully the blinkers which he tries for the first time will
help sharpen him up so he can further improve. His work at home has
improved with them on.

RACE 4 :

1st four selections

3 / 2 / 1 / 7

• SHARON KOTZEN - Number 2 - LETS PLAY BALL : He is a really honest
sort and though he could just need this having his first run back
after his vaccs and bumping a stiff field, he is well drawn and not
out of it.

• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 3, 4, 6 and 7 - LORD WINDERMERE, JIKA,
FALCON ROCK & VOICES OF LIGHT : All four are at best on Poly and love
the surface. Lord Windermere is in good form at this level. Likewise
for Jika, they can both get involved. Falcon Rock and Voices of Light
are up in class, but both are holding form well and can be
competitive.

GAVIN SMITH - Number 9 - PICK AGAIN : He tries hard, is honest and
has a place chance.

RACE 5 :

1st four selections

2 / 5 / 3 / 4

• GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 2, 5 and 9 - MASTERFUL, SPIRIT OF SONG &
DUET : Masterful was unlucky in his last and improvement is expected.
Spirit of Song ran a good last and can be thereaobouts. Duet is
working well and has a quartet chance.

• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 3, 4 and 7 - ALPHABET STREET, EDMONDA &
CLIFTON BEACH : Alphabet Street ran a good last and can be there
again. Edmonda has her first run out of her age group, she can hold
her own and has chance at the win. Clifton Beach has a place chance.

JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 8, 10 and 13 - CHESTNUT WILD, JADEED &
RIBOVAR : Chestnut Wild has the draw against him. Hoping for
improvement from Jadeed and Ribovar.

TARA LAING - Number 11 - BEETHOVEN : He will be outpaced debuting on
Poly and will be caught out by the shorter home straight as he does
his best work late.

DUNCAN MCKENZIE - Numbers 12, 14 and 15 - TORIO LAKE, FURLA & LADY
LIVIA : Both Furla and Lady Livia will find this a competitive field
taking on male opposition. Torio Lake is in good form and will run
well.

RACE 6 :

1st four selections

1 / 3 / 2 / 6

• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1, 2 and 3 - MERYL, DELIA’S DELIGHT &
ONTENDERHOOKS : Meryl is top weight and gives weight to all, but she
is classy and can follow up. Delia’s Delight managed a great first
effort over some ground in her last, she’s not out of this.
Ontenderhooks won her last well and though up in class can be
competitive.

• JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 6 - SAO PAULO : She tries a touch further
and should enjoy it, she loves the Poly.

GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 8 and 9 - ROCKSETTE & LATERAL’S FLASH : Both
horses are up in class quite a bit.

SHARON KOTZEN - Number 4 - SEEKING WISDOM : She over raced in her
last and is much better than that. She has earned her shot at a mini
feature and very honest she is a runner.

GRANT PADDOCK - Number 5 - PEARL GLOW : She has her first run for
the yard and will need it.

RACE 7 :

1st four selections

6 / 2 / 3 / 1

• GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 2 and 5 - STORY OF MY LIFE & EVOLVER : Story
of my Life is a hard knocker and always thereabouts. Evolver is coming
back to himself.

• SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 6 and 11 - MULTI GOLD & ANGEL OF ATHENS :
Multi Gold is suited to the trip and is versatile on surfaces. His
last run was a great one, doing his best work late over 1900m, a bit
short for him. He is a genuine stayer and is expected to be
competitive. Angel of Athens does prefer the longer run in on the
turf, but her one run so far on Poly was a cracker. She’s got the draw
and is expected to enjoy trying the 2200m distance.

JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 7 and 9 - FRIKKIE & ONESIE : Put a line
through Frikkie’s last run, he should earn. Onesie is coming back to
herself and a better run is expected.

TARA LAING - Numbers 4 and 8 - OLLIVANDER & THE SILVA FOX :
Ollivander’s Poly debut in his last was disappointing and he could be
better suited to grass. The Silva Fox was very disappointing in his
last too and we are hoping for improvement, but he will also have to
take to the Poly surface as he tries it for the first time.

RACE 8 :

1st four selections

5 / 3 / 4 / 1

• GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 3 and 4 - TOM ‘N JERRY & BIG FISH : They
both ran decent last races and have quartet chances again.

• ALAN GREEFF - Number 5 - MIO GRANDE : He ran a good race in his
last and tries further here, he can be there again if ready for this
trip.

MONTANA TURNER - Number 7 - SARK : He is expected to enjoy the extra
and loves the Poly. If he reproduces his last, he can earn again.

SHARON KOTZEN - Number 8 - FINLEY HILL : More had been expected from
him in his last, but it was his post maiden run and better is expected
from him here.

JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 1 and 11 - MAHIR & OMAHA TRIBE : Mahir is
drawn deep unfortunately, but his won a very good race in his last and
isn’t out of it. Omaha Tribe must do more.

GRANT PADDOCK - Numbers 2 and 6 - STRONG ‘N BRAVE & AWAKENING :
Strong ‘n Brave races off a break and is expected to need it. Hoping
for improvement from Awakening.

Race 2
What if the Bremner stable, pulls a Greffed

They Do have 40% of the field
VIA SEATTLE IS AT THE BIGGEST PRICE OF THE 3

If you look at 8 runs back in a CONDITIONS PLATE (F & M) over C/D via Seattle was actually rated higher than princess rebel they carried the same weight terms as today,PRINCESS REBEL was drawn 4 and VIA SEATTLE was Drawn 8 Princess rebel finished 2nd and Via Seattle finished in 3rd place but it was only 0.25length difference

Race comments-princess rebel (set pace outrun late)
Race comments-Via Seattle (lost1 hung-ran on)

Via Seattle Drawn 7 and princess rebel Drawn 2
Equipment change for VS and she could be racing fitter as out of the 3 runners she has been the least amount of time off the track

PRINCESS REBEL AND SEATTLE OAK WILL BE CUTTING THROATS UP FRONT FOR THE LEAD AND WILL FADE OUT BY THE 900M MARK AND VIA SEATTLE WILL CRUISE PASS THEM

Although the comments are not all to inspiring, i have a funny feeling that Lets Play Ball could have a better chance than mentioned.... Munger has ridden this one 4 times for 4 wins.. Only once riding it in 2 consecutive runs. He obviously gets on really well with the Street Cry gelding... I am also of the opinion that his unbeaten record on LPB's back is someting he will want to keep intact... For this reason, imo, he is a banker... In or out.... the racing seems very open today imo, so one needs to take a stance somewhere...

Race3 - Rock Aloe is at 6/10... I will don the egg with a smile on the dial should this one win, however, i am going to say this is a brass.. I make Mark the Doorman the one to beat... And, Rock Aloe 6/10 a win, Mark the Doorman 6/10 top 3, makes sense to me which one to use in multiples... Dont leave MTD out of the p6 imo....

I have 2 runners today
Race 6 Seeking Wisdom went too fast last time when trying to overcome a very wide draw. She and Libra cut each other’s throats up front and fell away tamely at the 200m mark. Kinder draw of 7/9 and back in handicap conditions whereas she was out at the weights against the top ones last time. She seems equally effective on the poly, and if she runs up to her best form must be in with a shout in a very open race.
Race 7 Angel of Athens ran a fair race last time coming back from a long break. That was her first time on poly. I think that she is better suited to the long run in on the turf track, but she seemed to handle the poly and the 2200m should be much more to her liking than the 1800m last time. She pulled up sound after that run, and although she is 6, she is lightly raced and may still have scope for improvement. Not particularly well in at the weights but could sneak into the money.
