Morning all on day 172 of lockdown.

Going to experience dropping a child at school during lockdown shortly.

Results for the punters not getting any better and no other pointers for the ARC emerging.
You can basically have 20/1 bar the top 2 if you shop around.
The O’Brien team continue to dominate.
Well done to Summer Pudding and all other award winners.👏

“Heaven Help Us” runs at the fun racing track Sligo and is appropriate for punters and the virus victims.

Day 173 of lockdown

Bad weather in Durban but that’s normal when we arrive.
The school trip is like a military operation, as parent you don’t actually leave the car. A couple of young ladies teachers check the children via the back window for temperatures and sanitation of hands.
They then take them to classroom, same procedures for collection.

We will probably go into Durban for bunny chow and a few punts today.

Well we need the rain and it is September.

Day 174

We have moved from Kloof to Ballito, weather still a bit miserable but high hopes for the rest of the week.🌞
Went to Hollywood Argyle, for a few punts and bunny chows and our friends were totally impressed.
Everything was 5 star from a well trained, attentive staff to the quality and taste of the food.👏
It was their first experience of a gambling establishment and it certainly won’t be the last, sorry for them 😢
My concern is trying to find an equivalent venue back in Pretoria.

It looks like we will also be having a runner on Saturday where Humble Tune managed to get accepted 🤞🐎 Let’s hope he can make a name for himself?

Morning all, it’s day 175 as we move to level 1.

It’s not before time and hopefully we get back to the “new normal “.

Things not sounding very good in PE this morning, we have videos and reports of grooms rioting, very sad.

Humble Tune is making his racetrack appearance on Sat. I will still be in KZN but Georgie the Greek will make the trip.

Weather is great now and we took a trip to the Sand Bar yesterday and glad it survived during these difficult times.

The President says we have to stick to the rules but in the meantime

It’s

It’s day 176 as we enter another weekend.

Racing has again hit the headlines both locally and internationally but sadly for the wrong reasons.

Will not repeat what has already been posted on the main forum as temperatures rise that are not virus related.
Let me just say that Bob had his work cut out with some fairly heavily worded posts that had to be deleted.
I just hope and pray that sanity will prevail and we return to normal ASAP and that the horses are kept safe.

Spare a thought for our four legged friends

Day 177

In a rush this morning moving back to Kloof.

HUMBLE TUNE runs today so 🤞
His work has been good and we were looking for a 1200MT at Vaal or 1450MT at Turffontien and Candice found a good race and not a strong field.
There will always be concerns about a first timer, green, distance etc.
I am happy that he should run a big race and we also have a top jock, so everything points to happiness 🙏

Day 178 of Lockdown as we move to level ONE.

All I can report is that it’s a stunning day in KZN and racing from Scottsville should be hot and hope we can find a few winners on a difficult card.

Well Humble Tune was not “perfect in every way” but I guess for a first run at least we earn a small contribution towards his keep.

Plenty stories and opinions about the PE saga but one thing for sure is the authorities have to get proactive and get to the root causes, before we have another Marikana on our hands.

ARC latest is that Enable is very well and it still looks like the much anticipated “match race” is still on the cards Love 18/10 and Enable 28/10 and basically 20/1 bar, mind you I remember Nijinsky getting beat and Covid results have the bookies on a roll.

We also had a bit added drama yesterday, when we discovered that my daughter took the wrong set of door keys on holiday with her and we have the set without the car keys.
Our walk to the local pub last night was a bit uphill but easier on the way back, so it’s all downhill from now.
Just for your info, a key for a Honda is R4800 and R1500 for setting , yes R6300 so another plan is being made.
An Uber for a couple of bacon rolls might be an overkill, but it is Sunday.

It’s very hilly around this area but I am sure we will find a solution.
