I suppose that is " karma " for u........ U go an jock off your REGULAR PILOT, & what does HE - Striker come an do but blow u out the water in the dying strides.....judging by the commentator OVERDOG had the race in the bag with 100m to go..

The Azzman must have had nightmares, a month still after the race was run......possibly even a few flash backs now that this story has resurfaced :P

That wasn't the end of the saga regarding trainer Azzman.
It happened again with his crack sprinter NATIONAL CURRENCY.
The same disagreement after the Jockey Strike finished 3rd in the Cape Flying Championship over 1000Mts at
Kenilworth when sent off at cramped odds of 4/10.
Azzman said He won't be riding this horse again.
And so it was Weichong Mawing who became the regular pilot of National Currency winning a few features on the horse in SA Inc the Mercury Sprint before running 2nd to Silent Witness in Hong Kong then winning a feature race in Dubai.

I think not at Kenilworth but at Durbanville. And then NC won at at the Big T (Gosforth?) without Striker and the Azznan said he was “vindicated”. But they are chommies again :-).

It was definitely at Kenilworth. Eric Sands gave the instructions to Striker although Azzie was the trainer. National Currency last race in South Africa was at Durbanville.

The front horse wad stopping to nothing so the amount of ground made up is exaggerated.

Strydom did exactly what he was supposed to. Ride the horse to the line.
If the other one held on, everyone would have said Strydom left it too late lol.

Still, one of my favorite jocks ever!

Agreed front one was walking ... would love to know the 400 to finish tough of Tudor Rullah though
