Hat Puntano and Empress Club have been the best two Argentinian imports to race in South Africa.
Imagine a race between the two!

Empress Club was one of the best a small filly but could fill a racetrack.
I remember being at an awards dinner when Laurie Jaffee said she was named after a gentleman’s club in London

Before Empress Club, her half siblings, Ecurie and Epoque were top fillies winning Grade 1's.
Current Sire and Grade 1 winner, Elusive Fort, grandam is Epoque.

I thought that she was named after her "clubbed" foot? If memory serves me correct she was a specimen but overlooked by many because of that clubbed foot. I could be wrong but that sticks in my mind.

I think that a match race between Empress Club and Hat Puntano would be much closer than most people think.
I reckon that the Hat would only win by 2 or 3 lengths.

Bokked, methinks you are drinking too much home brew !! Is Hat Puntano a race horse? Must be out the Azzman's yard... he can talk a horse up like no other.
