Seemingly racing does not need to get authorisation from the Sports Minister.

We have been dealing with DAFF, not Sports Ministry. Our last hurdle was travelling horses to and fro within a Province, which was not permitted during level4.
Permission to do this for the purpose of Racing under lockdown in level 3 was obtained earlier this week.
We have been pre approved to race under lockdown . Methinks that you will see me on TT, from Greyville on Monday !

I suppose if Horse Racing is still not a member Sascoc or South African Equestrian Federation nor as an affiliate member of SASCOC then maybe ... but I think lots more to this story ..

The Coastal Jockeys Association has made formal representations to the department pf Sport, Arts and Culture after minister Nathi Mthethwa announced measures for a relief fund of R150 million to soften the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic
not the ministry of Agriculture? I'm really really confused

Louis sometimes taking chances work, but unfortunately horseracing is a Sport, someone will make a representation to the Sports Minister today I’m sure to ask for permission for Jockeys to return to their earning jobs, let’s wait and see how that goes. Maybe a very small part of horse race breeding falls into DAFF but certainly not the Racing part

Just wonder when the Racing Association will put out a release as to whether racing in Jhb will start this week., with attached permission not obviously like last one pointing out “non contact sport allowed” as we have now been taught that horseracing falls under agriculture, and that begs the question why did they stop racing during Level 4?
Lou maybe you could answer that mate?

Under level-4 horses could only be brought out between 6-9 am
