TRACK INFORMATION

Race Track: Poly. 2000m track inside the turf circuit. All races clockwise round turn with 440m run-in. Turf. 2800m triangular-shaped circuit. All races clockwise round turn with 430m run-in.
Best Draws: Poly: Low-number draws slightly preferred 1400m and 1600m. Turf: Low-number draws preferable, especially 1400m and 1600m.

Race 1 We have Siwa Oasis making her debut. This filly was sold at the KZN yearling sale, but failed the scope, and so the sale was cancelled. She was scoped clean before she left the farm to go to the sale so that was disappointing. In training she has not made any wind noises. We have not rushed her, and she is likely to come on from this run. She has reportedly been showing some ability in work. Half the field are having their first run so very difficult to know what to expect, but i'm hoping that she will be running on and if its not too strong a bunch maybe sneak a place.
Kinskey's Tune has the best form of the raced runners, and although she has a wide draw has shown good early pace. Angry Bird now gets a run and can build on a fair debut, as can Soweto Hall but she has a wide draw too.
Princess Calla has been priced up favourite, and is the standout on pedigree. We raced her dam Princess Royal in partnership with Maine Chance, and she was a very smart sort, and of course a half sister to our champion filly, Princess Victoria. Princess Royal did not have the easiest of temperaments, but was very quick. A tricky draw to overcome.
Race 2 hard to look beyond Red Rock Canyon unless one of the first timers is special. next best are Macallan and Chief Officer.
The rest of the card is not too inspiring, although I would be tempted to go against the 5yo favourite, Santa Vittoria with the improving 3yo Anika The Angel in race 6
