The race meeting scheduled for Kenilworth Racecourse on Tuesday 18 August has been abandoned.
The course recorded 29mm of rain in the last 24 hours, 25mm of which fell on Monday, on top of 52mm in the prior seven days, causing the track to become waterlogged. Further rain is forecast for later Monday and Tuesday.
A replacement meeting will be scheduled for 29 August alongside the Greyville racemeeting.
A program will be disseminated shortly.

looks to me like the meeting has been moved to the 22nd.
Formgrids data muddled up.
Gallop showing 18th as 22nd now.

Apparently the 18th meeting will now be run on 22nd; the races originally scheduled for 22nd will move to 26th, and the program originally scheduled for 26th will be an extra meeting on 29th.
However there is still more rain forecast so could be further disruptions

KENILWORTH RACING MEDIA RELEASE
SUBJECT: Western Cape racing programme rejigged
DATE: Monday 17 August 2020
RELEASED BY: Phumelela Gaming
An additional Kenilworth race meeting has been added to the August schedule to compensate for the Western Cape having lost most of last Tuesday's race meeting and the forced postponement of the meeting on 18 August due to a waterlogged track.
The following changes have been introduced:
* the Kenilworth meeting scheduled for Tuesday 18 August will now be moved lock, stock and barrel to Saturday 22 August.
New times
Race 1: 12.35
Race 2: 13.10
Race 3: 13.45
Race 4: 14:25
Race 5: 15:00
Race 6: 15:35
Race 7: 16:10
Race 8: 16:45
Race 9: 17:20
* the Kenilworth card (declared today) for Saturday 22 August to be moved lock, stock and barrel to Wednesday 26 August.
* the programme scheduled for Wednesday 26 August will be moved to the added meeting and will now be staged on Saturday 29 August.
The reason for the added Kenilworth race meeting on Saturday 29 August is as a result of the spate of abandoned meetings/races of late in the Western Cape. This is permitted in terms of the Racing Operators’ National Abandonment Policy in situations like this.
With all the race meetings that were missed due to the Covid-19 lockdown, owners have already had limited opportunities to race their horses and this will ensure they do not lose any further race meetings.

KENILWORTH RACING MEDIA RELEASE
SUBJECT: Reserves now runners at Kenilworth
DATE: Tuesday 18 August 2020
RELEASED BY: Phumelela Gaming
The decision by the National Horseracing Authority to lift the restrictions on the number of horses in a race has afforded the opportunity to increase the fields to the optimum allowed by the operator for each course and distance.
When the original Kenilworth fields for Tuesday 18 August were pulled, the restrictions of 14 runners were still in place and as a result, reserve runners were added to the card for Races 1, 2 and 9.
As the meeting was called off on Tuesday due to a waterlogged track and moved to Saturday 22 August, those fields can now be extended to comprise 16 runners, which means a number of horses previously deemed Reserve Runners, are eligible to run.
They have subsequently been included as runners in the card for Saturday.
Bettors are advised to peruse the updated fields for Races 1, 2 and 9 before taking their bets.
The ComputaForm for that meeting is currently available online at www.tabonline.co.za .
