ANOTHER WINNER FOR MDK.

WARSAW gave top South African trainer Mike De Kock a valuable pointer for other members of his select Newmarket-based satellite operation when landing the Betdaq The Betting Exchange 6f handicap, in which he benefited from first-time blinkers and scored by three-quarters of a length.
Like Archipenko, who was De Kock's only previous winner here when successful in a Group 2 at Ascot last month, Warsaw was formerly trained by Aidan O'Brien, for whom he was a Listed winner and a regular in Group company. This was his handicap debut.
Jockey Kevin Shea, having his first ride at Kempton, was delighted and said: “A couple of the jockeys said this wasn't a bad race, so it's nice to see the horse win. He's done a couple of nice bits of work, but on the whole not much. He's not one of our best horses, and he gives us a good line to one or two of the others.”
He added: “I'm quite excited - excited for the rest of the team, and excited for him too. We know where we stand now for the winter carnival in Dubai, where there's good prize money to be won.”
Honour Devil, Royal Vintage and Lucky Find, all of whom have Group 1 entries here in the next two months, will be among those to look out for.

This was a polished ride from Shea. Unlike a number of other South African riders ( Michael Roberts excluded ) who claim to have battled in the UK he seems to have slipped seamlessly into the racing there.
He also appears to have the temperament and sense of humour to get on with the local riders who, by all accounts, make it pretty difficult for outsiders.
The boys on Betfair radio were equally complimentary - noting that MDK has the ability to turn around discarded material from O'Brien in particular and make something of it.
Well done to all.
