What a great player, pity to see that he has retired with only 102 caps. I say only because he should have had at least another 20. What was the name of the coach who dropped him for a couple of seasons

Yep, Percival was a great servant of the game for South Africa...have to say though Mori, that there was period when his game was going nowhere so I don't blame the coach for dropping him at the time.
The stint in Wales turned especially his kicking game around and when Jake negotiated to have overseas-based players to be included in the Bok squad, Percy came back with a kicking average of 90%+ which was probably 30-35% better than the percentage he was getting whilst in South Africa...He also matured immensely as a player and was the consumate pro'
