I guess it's understandable but have a feeling we could have hit the bottom and an upswing is possible.

These are the entire range individual, syndicates, partnerships, cc's etc. Official figures way lower than what Sly has posted.

Interestingly this shows the first increase in many years and it is of such insignificance to these people that it is not mentioned.

Where did you get your figures sly?

It is indeed encouraging to see an increase in ownership figures in the last season (ending July 2022) - but I have to wonder if there is not some 'funny business' here - maybe they started to count members of partnerships as individuals as well - but if we can take the numbers as gospel, it does provide a reason for guarded optimism - let's see if the trend continues this season - but I have my doubts

I had supper with a couple of BIG owners last night and they shared their feelings about Classic Day in the Owners and Trainers.

Copy of letter sent to RA and at this stage no reply.


I would like to bring to your attention the following shortcomings experienced at Turffontein on Saturday:
Glassware shortage
No large/beer glasses, all drinks served in whiskey tumblers.
Cordials
- No lime cordial
Cutlery
- No teaspoons, coffee served with a wooden stirrer
Sweetener
- Not available for coffee
Catering
Starter and dessert selection very limited and lacking in quality, main course average.
Courses not served on time
- Not good value for money
Credit Card Machine
- Unavailable/ not working, had to settle drinks bill with cash
In general a poor effort for Classic Day. |
I am not winging and trust my comments will be viewed as constructive criticism to improve the racing experience for your members.
