Island Racing , New regulations

Thought I’d stick in the SA Forum for better exposure, they are now a Listed Company and look to be very thorough

We need this one here.
A trainer who has entered 2 or more horses in a race, must set out each rider’s riding instructions
in writing on the appropriate form which must be duly signed by the trainer and all the relevant
jockeys and submitted in a sealed envelope to the Clerk of the Course before the trainer saddles
his horses.
I would add these instructions must be read out to the public prior to the race.

Interesting topic.
I do like the idea of a sealed envelope that can be open if any foul play has been suspected.
In any sport, tactics play a major roll and whether it be rugby, football or horse racing.
I am sure the players would rather keep their tactics close to their chests to ensure the best outcome and not necessarily for public sharing.

Mauritian racing in turmoil at the moment. With covid it looks like we will only start the 24th April behind closed doors.
Besides that, the MTC and the GRA are at loggerheads over regulations and no one knows the outcome.
The written instructions with 2 runners has been happening for years already and is signed and sealed, if ever there is a query the envelope is opened in the enquiry.
