July 2021 Race Day Card Programme

10 Races Carded.

Two Races are 2yo Sale Races. One Race for fillies the other for colts and geldings.
The Post Merchants is now on July Day (Grade 2)

The other races are the same races like the previous years.

The July (Grade 1)
The Garden Province (Grade 1)
The Gold Vase (Grade 3)
The July Consolation (Grade 3)
The Golden Horse Shoe 2yo race (Grade 2)
The Golden Slipper. Restricted to 2yo fillies (Grade 2)
The Thukela Handicap (Listed)

I do not like Sale Races on feature race days. Especially 2 year old sale races.

The Post Merchants was normally a night meeting. I understand them moving the race as there is no night racing at the moment because of COVID.

Oh dear. We will need to reschedule that 13th race.

Mac it's now an open event for Colts and Fillies (geldings or Gender Neutral also qualify)

Looks like Covid has resulted in common sense down in GC country.

The Garden Province will not be run under lights.

Never ever understood why the only WFA G1 on the July card would be run so late especially with so many fillies experiencing this for the first time.
