Just maintaining a tradition. But in these times it should have been cancelled..... why expose oneself to Risk unnecessarily.........

The gallops are more than a tradition, it is a prerequisite for the big day, if the horse does not gallop it does not run in the race. Personally I don't look at the gallop as deciding on my fancies, but I must say DIA looked tops, as per my post on another thread he has come in under the radar. I did have a small punt on his first win but none on his second. Although he is carrying some weight compared to the 3 year olds he will run well. It speaks volumes that Ricard jumps of last year winner to partner DIA. He does run better in KZN than in the Cape. I feel he is true athlete. Which was shown last year, drawn close to the car park carrying good weight and still ended up in the firing line I am huge fan of RB but will have a punt on both the 2 older horses.
