DANCERS DAUGHTER MET TARGET.

TOP racemare Dancer's Daughter is back in training after a two-month break and she has the J&B Met as her ultimate target.

Pocket Power, who dead-heated with the British-bred mare in the Durban July, also has the historic Kenilworth showpiece as his aim.

Justin Snaith, who trains Dancer's Daughter, said: "She has just gone back into work and she is being aimed at the Paddock Stakes on January 10 and then the Met three weeks later.

"Ideally I would like to get two races into her before the Paddockbut I want to see the conditions of the various preliminary races before committing myself."

Horse of the year Pocket Power has won the last two runnings of both the Queen's Plate and the Met, and trainer Mike Bass is again aiming for the same Grade 1 double.

He said: "I'm not sure when Pocket Power will start - it all depends on how he is at the time but he could go for the Green Point Stakes on November 22. He will run through the Cape summer season with the main plan being the Queen's Plate on January 10 followed by the Met."

Ouzo to both Horses and their connections - I fancy DD to edge it slightly between them this season and then I won't be surprised to see DD go overseas and take on the 'rest of the world'.

Respectfully, Jim.
