*MEDIA STATEMENT: HEAVY RAINFALL EXPECTED ACROSS THE PROVINCE, RESIDENTS URGED TO DELAY TRAVELLING*
11 April 2022
Inclement weather conditions over the weekend have increased the risk of localised flooding across the province, as heavy rains continue.
The latest level 5 weather warning from the South African weather service indicates that significant heavy rains will continue into the evening today in major parts of the province, especially the eastern parts.
Residents are urged to exercise utmost caution and where possible, delay and suspend any activities that might leave them susceptive to incidents that might be caused by the heavy rains.
Residents residing in low lying areas are urged to seek shelter on higher ground as the severe heavy rains is expected to cause localised flooding.
The ongoing heavy rains, which come at a time when the ground is already saturated from the weekend’s rains increase the risk of flooding in informal settlements, low-lying areas and bridges.
Disaster management teams continue to respond to a number of incidents which include a wall collapse in eThekwini that led to a fatality, mudslides that have been reported in KwaDukuza, flooding of Ladysmith town and road damage in on the south coast. Road diversions are being implemented where possible.
Local disaster management teams continue to monitor high-risk areas across the province, residents who experience any incidents can contact their respective ward councillor or local municipality.

I agree with Craig that todays downpour is exceptional and no racing would be possible anywhere in the world with the rain that's currently over Durban.
However Craig, in days gone by would you not agree that many meeting would have went ahead compared to recent times.
i know of days when it poured and Scottsville / Clairwood would race.
and we as punters structured our bets accordingly that the Scottsville Jackpot today will pay because of the rain.
i grew up , knowing the fact that Greyville had the best drainage system in the world.
what went wrong????
or am i being paranoid

Another way to kill racing is by hacking punters who make use of online betting websites. Being customer centric is vital to attract a large audience. Many bookmakers offer many free promotions were players can partake in and win a prize e.g. Betting coupons, cash or kind
Social Engineering is a term were a skilled IT professional exploits a SMS system with a fake look alike website in order to gain access to a players credentials in conjunction with the bookmakers promotions.
Please familiarize yourself with your bookmakers URL and always try to access the promotion from the official website.

Go to Severe Weather And Information Centre SA (SWAICSA) on Google, parts of KZN had lots of rain.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
