KENILWORTH RACE COMMENTS – SATURDAY, 22 OCTOBER
Charlie Malone: He had excuses last time and we expecting a better run here. Hoping he can make the frame in a hard race to assess.
Longshanks: Bringing him back up the straight under jockeys instructions as he has been racing very green around the turn. Expect improvement.
Chiquita Banana: Needs to improve to feature here, but if she repeats her maiden effort she could run a fair race.
Anne Karenina: Fair debut run, she has come on with that and will have an each way chance if she doesn’t find the 1200m a bit sharp.
Turkish Kelim: Back over 1200m and if its not too sharp for her she could have a shout here. Respect, and include in your plays.
Philosophise: She never ran any type of race at Durbanville , but back up the straight at Kenilworth is what she could be looking for. Hard to assess her chances.
Camile Claudel: First run back after a break and doing well. She could run a good race back up the straight fresh. Each Way shout.
Country Time: A little unsure over the 1200m and first run out the maidens, so we a little unsure where she fits in, but she is never far off.
Defining Moment: Tries a bit further with the cheek pieces on , hoping she can put in a big effort.
Chelsea Garden: Will really appreciate the extra, and expecting an improved run.
Pipers Creek: Drawn poorly and will need another run before she begins to show.
Who Do You Love: A very talented filly, in great shape going into this race and she will be a big runner here. Very generous starting odds!
Golden Hostess: She is also a smart progressive filly and although looking for further she will be running on with a nice money chance.
Body Electric: Nicely weighted and back up the straight at Kenilworth which she will prefer.
She could bounce back with a huge run! Respect.
Barzelona: First run back after a race in a very tricky race and could run a cracker fresh . Go wide here.
Mr Cobbs: Returns after a break. Needs to regain his form but he has freshened up nicely and should run well.
Resonate: Back up the straight and third run back so he is cherry ripe for a big effort.
Le Mans: First time in this class and tries the trip for the first time. A talented sort and could find the frame.
Charles Dickens: His prep has gone perfectly and he comes to the course with a big winning chance again.
Dragon Fly: He needed his last race and back up the Kenilworth straight. Big winning chance.
Sun Dazed: Very well in himself and always puts in an honest effort.

Sunny day and looking forward to being back at Kenilworth. A fresh SE (headwind) blowing so although the course will be fast the front runners might find it tough in the closing stages.
Race 1 I'm hoping that Aussenkehr can get it right today. Gimme's Laddie and Charlie Malone have solid form. Inside Story, Captain Casanova and William the Red can all step up on their debut runs.
Race 2 Red Sash has been priced up favourite after two good runs, but I think that her price is too short. Her stablemate, Ygritte gets the services of Fourie and if she reproduces her juvenile form then will be too good here. Our filly Everlasting has run two decent races and I think that she has a decent ew chance here. Anna Karenina fair debut and can have a say, and a few first timers that could be anything.
race 3 Competitive race and Hunting Trip is favourite after an easy win. She has a big weight to carry. Philosophise good juvenile form and if reproducing that will have a shout. Quite a few with chances but I'll Slip Away seems too big a price at 12/1.
Race 4 Jazbella has been priced up favourite, but I don't see her as a banker. Allende has good form and if she enjoys the trip is a big runner. Our filly, Sunlit From Heaven is making steady progress and needed both her starts, and the step up in trip will suit. She needs to find 4 lengths on Jazbella, which won't be easy, but I'm sure that we will get a lot closer this time from a good draw. Typeface has good form and should be in the mix. Beau Kala gets a lot of weight which brings her into the picture.
race 5 Inara's Dynasty has been very impressive her last two and this race will be her test and will give us a clue as to the relative strength of the KZN juvenile form vs those that stayed in CT. She is the one to beat. Dangers are Who Do You Love and the Kotzen runners. Bonika and Miss Marguerite have solid form.
Race 6 Hitthemhardsunshine returns from a rest but still looks the one to beat. Quite open if he fails- Tough Terrain has good form and there are a few carrying very low weights that could skip away.
race 7 Very competitive, and not all will be fully fit yet. My shortlist is Ambiorix, Safe Return, Future Prince, Gimme a Prince, Rod the Mod, Giacomo Puccini and Resonate.
race 8 Charles Dickens has been impressive to date and on breeding should enjoy the step up in trip. Short price, and obviously the one they have to beat. Will be a popular banker. Dave the King was pulled out the race last time and before that was very impressive. If he bounces back he could cause an upset although not aided by a wide draw. Countdown, Wiccan Warrior and Imposing bring KZN form. We're Jamming, At My Command and Port Louis all have solid form and these young horses can all show sudden improvement
race 9 very open and will need to go wide in exotics. My shortlist is Dragonfly, Itsrainingwilliam, Transact, Dean Street, Ragnar Lothbrok

Going to follow the Crawford stable today
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Charles Dickens 4/10 5/10 seems very short in a competitive field.
R1. Snaith fourie 7/2. were 2 lengths in front of crawford horse
Race 2 Anna Karanina

Race 1, being a 4 year old, Inside Story is well weighted here. The run you refer to, that was Inside Story's debut and did have excuses. Will go very very close.
