One runner today- Soft Touch in race 4. She is fit and well and is distance suited. This is an open race but she must have a fair ew chance. The form of her last run has been franked. Peut Etre Moi has been below best recently, but has dropped a lot in the ratings so should be competitive. Supreme Dream has run well in maiden handicaps and looks fairly weighted. Zippy Over and our filly finished close to each other last time and meet on the same terms.

race 1 looks a boat race between Double Grand Slam and Nile the Boss unless a very good first timer pops up. I'll go with the former due to the draw.
Race 2 Zoomie is the one to beat and the dangers are Mojo Man and Snow Pilot if she can overcome the draw.
Race 3 Open maiden. Mighty Mac has fair form and a nice draw so is first choice. Cafe Culture, State of Shock, laughing William and Run for Me all must be considered and an upset here is very possible.
Race 5 Virginia sweet gets a hefty sex allowance and should be hard to beat. Very open if she fails. Autumn Moon, Doubling Up and twice the Master the main dangers.
Race 6 very competitive handicap. Greg Ennion holds a strong hand, but many with chances.
race 7 Poltergeist looks the one to beat from the plum draw. Fort Red and Wyag the dangers but quite a few others with chances.

.....Race 2 Having found Mojo Man on his debut feel that he needs to be ridden differently at the country course to even get a blow in.....besides Zoomie has him cold on their last outing...will be looking for improvement from a longer shot like no1...
.....Race 3 Tough race but going Laughing William for a place.....
.....Race 4.....Blackout thanx ESKOM....maybe take an afternoon nap....:dry:

virginia sweet looks the best bet on the day

r6 veronique looks a place sitter and should go very close

race 7 - i like bonanza to run well here at the bottom of the betting 5-1 a place worth an ew

last 2 x races ..... as the pens OPEN....... a jockey FALLS OFF.

......could have been a big day 4me.....but after that Crawford jock tossed the 1st two by not getting closer to the pace .....then lost confidence in Veldskoen in the last which I made a big runner despite the draw but nothing looked to run on on the day.....and it won very well..... without my money on....:S

......in hindsight should have played a PA.... :sick:
