I fondly remember Gerrit Schlechter wining the Met in 2011 for Darryl Hodgson , i fancied it so strongly . Such great memories

RIP. He was a quiet horseman who went about his business with little fanfare. 
I think he trained the good Abbey's Lad and with AF on board it won at Scottsville one afternoon around the turn of the century and ensured a top payday that day. 
The late Ivan Pickering was his assistant around that time.
