Glad NHRA could resolve so soon after the Cape season ended.

 THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:b)         Shortly before the finish line, MELECH (G Lerena) was bumped by MAIN DEFENDER (C Habib), which shifted in away from the crop. As a consequence, MAIN DEFENDER (C Habib) became severely unbalanced and lost momentum. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine MAIN DEFENDER. An inquiry will be opened into this incident.
 Permission was granted for Jockey C Habib to sign an admission of guilt. Jockey C Habib signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of MAIN DEFENDER, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to MELECH (G Lerena) when he shifted in in the concluding stages. Jockey C Habib signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of seven (7) days.Suspension dates:  3 March 2024 to 9 March 2024 (both days inclusive).
