2400m with blinkers on and pulling ......
If Richard was riding Imhotep I'm pretty sure he would have known you can't pull for 2 and a half km's and expect to win.
Probably would have gone round the field and set a pace which was comfortable and give it a chance.
That's the difference between him and most of the others who just ride for luck if things aren't going their way.
