In retrospect... It would have been nice to see the winner canter to post.

100% comical. What's not so comical is the perception that "insiders" associated with her backed her. As for the Ponzi scheme, I did a live video. our members pay R199 and every month we give it all back to members via various giveaways. These are all done live and published. When a horse shortens like she did the natural belief is to think there is something going on and we wanted to distance ourselves from that. When I spoke to the tipster this morning (circa0730) my conversation was light hearted and I said seeing as you have 1500 followers and they are going to win a min of R1000 each then the least you can do is donate to the high veld horse care unit. I then emailed everyone associated with that deal, the tipster floated the idea with his followers and 80 odd sent / made a tick. For me I told him let some good come out of this, you the genius tipster that punted her at 16/1 , your followers have won a min of R1.5m , the charity wins R100k and Glistian proves we had nothing to do with this coup. Then on his group the insist started and the conversation went south, I then made the video and I stand by it. If you want to take from the game it's only fair that those putting in take from you. Whatever you think of me (I don't care) but one thing is I do love racing and I do my best to get people involved at the lowest possible financial entry, not one of the operators has ever thanked me or paid me ( im good with both) so my conscience is clear. Glistain is doing our best for racing and ill out those that are not.

Is this an epic own goal?
As a colours holder, have you crossed the line by intimidating and issuing threats.
This is not coming across as a great advert for the display of sportsmanship and fair play.

I personally think that Glistian does have good intentions but unfortunately if your members are gonna think you pulling a coup on them everytime one of your horses shortens without there money , you in for a long bumpy road ahead

threats to share information to the public. threats to make sure everyone knows what is going on. no problem , we can call it threats all day long. too many secrets in racing and "insider" information. We will continue to have open debates and inform anyone that listens what is going on with our horses. and what happened yesterday will never happen again (I don't mean a horse shortening) what won't happen again is the perception that we are behind it and for the record I have spoken to quite a few owners and a few trainers that have felt compromised at this kind of thing happening and them having to explain. Now other peoples motives might indeed be betting ones, Glistians has nothing to do with betting but the perception it created.
As for the tipster at hand, he even took the time to message the jockey and offer him instructions on how to ride the horse. (I assume to ensure) that all bases were covered for him and his clients. If this is not something that needs to be looked at then Im not so sure all is right in the state of Denmark. Outside "influence" on the outcome of a race kept secret to a band of merry men cannot be good for racing.
but I might be wrong, so perhaps close your eyes and imagine its your horse, or your clubs horse, your members are messaging and asking what is going on. Your members that get the opportunity for R199 to experience racehorse ownership , how must they think things work. Nothing happens in isolation and for every action there is a reaction. Glistian do our best to include as many people from as many walks of life into this amazing sport.
Our rebranding from The IRC was because of the constant blocking of our adverts on social media ( due to the association with gambling and racing) that's the world we live in. How are we supposed to let new people enjoy the game when things like this happen.

Craig Pienaar
exactly
Of course that is the tricky act we now have to balance. As of yesterday now everyone will be informed the moment a horse is nominated and then accepted etc with full information of what is going on at those various interactions. It's more cost and labour to a business that frankly makes no money. There is no fund from the operators for any syndicates or clubs for discount on advertising or anything along those lines. We all do this as a passion for the sport we love.
Whatever the future holds for people like us that are trying to promote horse racing and SA horse racing, yes the road is bumpy.
For the record we don't get 1 cent from anybody, our podcast is done gratis (actually at a loss ) our club members are getting ALL club proceeds back to them every month via all our incentives.
Reality is that this is a losing business.
What we have done is take our horses ( which we would own anyway) and build a business that allowed new people to experience ownership at a super affordable level.
So whatever happens the horses will continue, what changes is how many people we attract and I believe part of that attraction is inclusive information.
and eliminating all these things that happen behind the scenes that cause unfounded perception
