Following the race, the Stewards received an official written complaint from the connections of ZEUS and will enquire into the circumstances of the race and if there has been a possible contravention of Rule 62.2.9 (pertaining to a rider taking all reasonable measures to ensure that he rides to the instructions given to him by the authorised persons).

An Inquiry will be opened into the riding of RED PALACE (G van Niekerk) in the concluding stages of this race.

Is he OK?....perhaps a proper forced break from riding for 6 months will help him get his mind sorted....you can't leave him out ever but sometimes you wished you had....

Red Palace He does not ride in KZN perhaps got caught out slightly by the finish line.
Zeus ride more concerning. Did not think could win of 3200 in graded company.

Would hope he comes back even stronger next season. Would like to see him and Aldo challenge for the title.

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE RACECOURSE - RACE 9 - 28.07.2024 Rule 62.2.3 – For as the rider of RED PALACE, he failed to ride this horse out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards. Fined R2500
