That ride in the last on Carrytheone...was a great ride as it just epitomises the difficult Ascot track...our jocks are not used to a true undulating course with all the nuances...like racing downhill on a horse that is pulling...then that wide sweeping bend into an uphill whilst trying to decide whether to take the "safe" option out wide but run five or six deep...or wait for the gap to hopefully open in time (if at all) down the inside, all this behind tiring horses falling back. That horse certainly pulled her down to the start...and was pulling for nearly half of the race before it actually settled.
I would love to hear what she has to say about this ride once she has reviewed it at her leisure. I would also love to hear what Muis the Ace thought of the ride.
Great achievement Rachel Venniker...an accomplished jockey that balances her mounts before starting her run...building momentum
