One Foot in the Grave

đ Grandadâs Last Christmas? Maybe Not! đ
Iâve been saying it for years, but the family knows the drillâthis might just be my last Christmas! Before we revisit the thread title, letâs dive into this weekendâs racing and sports action:
đ Betway Summer Cup
After the draw on Wednesday, my picks remain solid:Â See It Again 28/10 and Main Defender the danger ?Â
I had the privilege of attending the draw.
Thanks to Betway and 4Racing. It was a fantastic eventâhats off to them for the experience! đ
Local Racing
Friday â PE
Joy and Peace looks the one to beat.
Donât forget to include Ziets in your selectionsâheâs always worth a shot!
Saturday â Kenilworth
One Stripe is shaping up to be something special.
Double Grand Slam is my pick to edge out Red Palace.
Saturday â Turffontein
More tips to come, but the focus will undoubtedly be on the Pick 6 for the 30thâitâs shaping up to be a cracker!
đ Overseas Racing
The buzz? Constitution Hill no longer heads the Champion Hurdle ante-post marketâa big shake-up! Cheltenham updates to follow soon.
Weekend highlights:
Haydock and Ascot promise great action.
The must-watch race? Punchestown's Unibet Hurdle, where the Mullins stars State Man, Lossiemouth, and Ballyburn will battle it out.
City of Troy took home Horse of the Year at the Cartier Awardsâmore on the UK thread.
đ Rugby Action
What more can we say about the mighty Springboks?
Can they hit 100 points against Wales? đ¤ Even with a trimmed squad, a 50-point spread seems more than possible!
A Personal Note
This week had its share of scares.
Young Robbie Williams (yes, thatâs his real name!) had a febrile seizure and lost consciousnessâterrifying for his mum. Thankfully, heâs now doing fine. đ
So it's back to school run on Monday.Â
Our dear Molly had a knee operation on Tuesday. Heâs in pain, but the doctor assures us it was a success. đ
Back to the Thread Title
Getting older isnât for sissies. Mrs. S says I remind her of Victor from One Foot in the Grave. Harsh, but fair! đ˘
When I canât get the remote for 240, we settle on game shows: The Chase, Tipping Point, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire are favorites (but we endure Pointless as well đ˘).
Hereâs a clip worth watchingâit has a happy ending with an ironic twist during the last "leg" of the questions:
Good Punting đÂ
