Don't let the sun catch you crying đ˘

Good morning, punters! đ§ď¸
Itâs been a challenging time for racing with cancellations and weather disruptions, but letâs hope for clear skies and smooth races this weekend. Here's the latest:
Local Racing
Today:
Port Elizabeth (PE):
The usual hotties for Richard and Craig, but keep an eye on Zietsman and George. Best of luck with the "Warrior" El Romiachi and their promising new addition, Strange Magic.
Saturday:
Turffontein (weather permitting) where Greatarix runs.
Hollywood Kenilworth with a competitive card can produce a few decent exotic payouts.Â
Miss World best bet.
Looking ahead to the WSB Cape Town Met on the 25th, itâs shaping up to be a wide-open race. My early pick for the Cape Flying Championship Sprint is Lucky Lad.
Overseas Racing
Itâs all about the jumps, but the action feels a bit flat. đ¤
Cheltenham Countdown:
Brighterdaysahead might switch to the Champion Hurdle instead of the Maresâ race.
Rising star The New Lion is looking strong for the Turners.
Il Est Francais could give Jonbon a run for his money in the Champion Chase.
Galopin Des Champs is poised for a Gold Cup hat trickâexpect fireworks on the final day!
Football
Liverpool and Newcastle are in top form. A League Cup final clash between them would be epic!
Health & Reflections
On a personal note, itâs been a tough start to 2025. A hernia operation and eye surgery are on the cards, but as they say, âYour health is your wealth.â Letâs hope for brighter days ahead.
Also waiting for blood results for normal old age ailments.Â
The optician asked me "have you had your eyes checked "?
My reply "no they have always been this colour ".
Started watching TV news again and horrific scenes of the wild fires đĽ in California, the financial damage is massive.Â
Song of the Week
In these rainy times, hereâs a fitting tune: Paul Carrackâs rendition of Donât Let the Sun Catch You Crying. Originally by Liverpoolâs Gerry and the Pacemakers, who also gave us the iconic Youâll Never Walk Alone.
Note YNWA was written by Hammerstein for Carousel and performed by "old blue eyes" đÂ
Good punting đand things can only get better đ
