Let a good bunch of horses go past him then still waited a bit then only started to ride.
He didn't want a place.....and he timed it perfectly for a short head 5th.

I don't agree - imo Melech was hanging on to Main Defender (and the jock was lucky in fact as he also hampered Zuzan); not sure that he cost MD the race though (was a neck only at the line - if it were closer imo the objection might have succeeded - as it was the deposit was refunded) 

I get what you saying Frodo just I don't think the stipes could be 100% sure MD was going to beat Melech as Melech always seemed to have the upper edge.
