Quid Pro Quo at Evens š
Is it Quid Pro Quo from the bookies this weekend?
By definition, it's a fair exchangeāread below. We give you money for the favourite in the Guineas, and you give us even money š°.Then we all have a good weekend š āŗļø.
Letās talk about other reasonable exchanges over the weekend:
Port Elizabeth (PE)
As always, Richard has a few good ones, with Ono No Komachi looking the best.
El Romiachi runs againāheād prefer the Polytrack but will always give his best.
We also have an impossible-looking card from Hollywoodbets Greyville this evening.
Saturday
A great card from Turffontein, where the Pick 6 is worth a punt.
QPQ banker, and Melech each way looks a better option than a win on Main Defender.
Turffontein has to share the spotlight with a double-header at Hollywoodbets Kenilworthāalso a decent card.
UK Racing ā The Dublin Festival at Leopardstown
Willie Mullins should continue his dominance.
Saturday Selections:
Football
Arsenal vs Man Cityāthe big one!
Six Nations Rugby
The Six Nations is back! France, Scotland, and Ireland should all win, making for some great rugby š to watch.
A Personal Quid Pro Quo ā Home Affairs
Home Affairs has always been a dreaded task when it comes to keeping documents up to date.
Ahead of our trip to Scotland, we needed to renew our passports and other documents. We were assured this would be a simple process, thanks to infrastructure improvements at Home Affairs. So, we duly booked an appointment at theĀ Menlyn branchāand, to our surprise, the experience was quiteĀ impressiveĀ š.
AĀ bigĀ change from our previous visits! My first encounter with Home Affairs wasĀ 50 years ago, as an immigrant under the previous government, and it wasnāt a pleasant experience.
For context, in a previous life, I was the Works Director of the biggest privately owned military supplier of communication equipment to what was once a first-class defence force. We had joint ventures with leading forces across the world, and I felt I had contributed positively to South Africa. Trust me, theĀ SADFĀ was not theĀ Dadās ArmyĀ we see today.
So, back to ourĀ Home AffairsĀ mission..
To our shock, despite beingĀ citizens for 50 years, we were told weĀ didnāt qualify for a Smart ID cardĀ as we were not born in South Africa. Instead, we were directed to apply for aĀ green ID bookācontrary to the departmentās supposed goals.
TheĀ Menlyn branchĀ couldnāt process this, so we were sent toĀ Centurion, where things took a drastic turn.
The difference betweenĀ Menlyn and Centurion Home AffairsĀ isĀ stark. FromĀ almost hostileĀ staff toĀ two hours waiting in blistering heat, it was absoluteĀ chaos. We bit our tongues, ignored the awful attitudes, and pushed through.
To top it off, weāve now been told that theĀ temporary green ID cardĀ issued to Mrs S is onlyĀ valid for two monthsāand the only place to acquire a permanent one?Ā Cullinan. Wonder what kind of treatment weāll get there...Ā watch this space.
Oh, andĀ eight years ago, we were told theĀ Smart ID systemĀ was "a work in progress" and would beĀ rolled out soon.Ā Still waiting... š¢
I fully understand thatĀ immigration is a major concern, but after 50 years as aĀ citizen, surely a littleĀ Quid Pro QuoĀ could have been considered?
Good Punting! š

However 45 mins paid and outĀ
Don't do sms at this brach just come back 5 weeks and will be ready ?Ā
