Remember the days we used to race in heavy... New ground staff needed, or more likely we need more ground staff!

Remember the days, when everyone said Greyville had the best drainage system in the world.
Can't forget , the day i caught my biggest p6.
Got my results in  the first 3 legs , and the heavens opened in greyville.
Just wanted the race meeting to be abandoned, as it was sizeable to me at that stage anyway.
No can do, in driving torrential rain , commentator couldn't even see the horses till they came into the straight , but still they raced
Going into the last leg, Felix Coetzee riding for Bosch 8/10 and thats my banker,, hoping and praying they call off the last at least, but still they went on, felix wins.
But those were the days Heavy going was allowed and mudlarks on studying form was just as important as what merit ratings is to today.
Scottsville , another course heavy rain and they raced and you made sure your 50c jackpot had nearly 4 fields and justifably so when you saw the results..
Abandoned meetings was a rarity and jockeys were as tough as nails

Clairwood used to get so wet that you'd need an Airboat to get from the carpark to the racecourse...
Meetings were only abandoned if the float with the horses could not get to the course.
