Big milestone completed at Hollywoodbets Greyville last night. We have completed the track lighting installation, 56 posts, over 450 new led lights. Switched on instantly. Next is the DMX lighting for the grandstand to be completed by 15 May.

It's top class and will work during load shedding too, hopefully.
The cost may not be astronomical , unlike the costs incurred when buying the Bookmakers rights for the now defunct TRACK AND BALL GAMING ?

......brilliant a very good step forward to ensure that night racing starts growing back to it's former glory.....this should circumvent the power problems in that this technology is not power hungry and can be easily backed up with minimal generator costs and maybe battery power bank to be extra safe.....whoo hoo

People made a lot of money out of the lights on the Highveld and it wasn't the suppliers or installers.
How criminal charges were not opened is beyond me. This game deserves to be where it is - a charity case run by benefactors. The joke is that some of the same pigs are still at the trough as we speak.

.....this is so true...but what they are doing at Greyville is not replacing the masts and power supply....not like the Turffies big lie....they said that the lights from Newmarket would be moved and used....then they covered up by getting totally new masts and lights.....the Newmarket lights masts were written off at zero.....and some smart Phum exec sold a shit load of aluminum for scrap at top dollar.....and a bonus were the lights....oh my

1 month 3 weeks ago - 1 month 3 weeks agoMy intro into South African racing and this forum (eventually) was one of my best mates, the legendary NO2SON (on here who sadly passed away just over a year ago) tipped me a runner of his brothers (Gajima) at Newmarket night races..People made a lot of money out of the lights on the Highveld and it wasn't the suppliers or installers.

Newmarket Nights
Clairwood Sunday's
Greyville Night racing
The biggest draws for punters! The poly ruined racing in KZN ( for me and by the size of the pools others), but the big nights and feature race days are still fantastic
