PRESS RELEASE

The National Horseracing Authority (NHA) confirms that an urgent investigation has been opened into the circumstances that resulted in the filly named AFFIRMATIVE, under the care and supervision of trainer Mr L F Robinson, having to be humanely euthanised earlier today.

NHA Officials attended Summerveld Training Centre this morning after being advised, through independent veterinary intervention, of serious concerns pertaining to the critical condition of AFFIRMATIVE.  In order to ensure that the filly received the immediate necessary veterinary care, the NHA intervened, resulting in subsequent veterinary advice that the filly be humanely euthanised, which was given effect to.

The investigation will include whether all relevant parties associated to AFFIRMATIVE complied with and exercised the requisite duty of care as provided for in the subscribed Rules of the NHA, to ensure the highest levels of horse welfare that is expected in the horseracing industry.

Don't you just hate these farking useless NHA press releases? If you have something to say Hyde then f u c king say it.

Before the inevitable conjecture starts because of this pathetic devoid of facts release, let me put my cards on the table. I have known Frank a long time. He cares deeply for his horses, in fact he treats horses a lot better than people.  Many years ago he heard of a good Herman Brown horse that was being mistreated in the Transkei and went out and rescued it at his own expense.. I'm sure Muhti or one of the clanners will remember the name, was a decent horse.

Does that sound like a person who would neglect his own horses?

Agree, it's a poor presser.

Not just horses Frank cares for, but he feeds and looks after all the stray cats in Summer-veld..

.....checked Formgrids to see that this horse was still unraced.....possibly unsound or severe medical issues....and do not think that Frank did nothing untoward in trying to nurse it..... horses are sometimes badly injured or afflicted with severe colic or even AHS.....and are humanely put down.....seems like the NHRA are hell bent in targeting some individuals as Frank has had more than  a few run ins with them and defended charges pubically.....and they do not like it....huh
