first of all well done to lance benson for putting this article in the latest parade magazine but what a pity you didnt put it on the front page..scotia or anyone else please could you put the article with picture on the website..it is high time that the culprits names are put forward and not withheld..i looked up on bsa website to see who the buyer was but it said vn racing whoever that might be..as for the stud in natal where the horses were spelled what a load of shit for the reason they were in such condition..i have visited stud farms in winter for 20 years and never heard or seen a horse in such condition..DISGRACE and lets wait and see if anything is done about it

Hi Pirates

Thanks for the observation and your interest. If I may say so, it was a small but bold step away from the norm for me as Editor of the mag which, as you know, is a vehicle for promoting SA Horseracing and Breeding. I justified it on the basis that public awareness could only be positive and to let folk knwo that nobody is above disclosure.

It was Mike Benson(no relation of mine) of the Kjell Foundation who drew this case to our attention. I must admit that Jan Naude CEO of TBA was most forthcoming with comment and info and never tried to influence me away from publishing it.

Somebody needs to take up the cudgel on behalf of the horse and I have had some reader reaction already and will be attempting to get a further response from the (well known) stud.
Cheers
L
