I agree with you. I was never a fan of immediate edge, but I watched the Gold Challenge preview last week and how quick MDK pointed out that Immediate Edge was a massive contender for the July. It was only at this point did I do research on this horse, watched his runs and realised that this horse is being masterfully prepared for this race. Even post race interview, MDK quipped that this is a "Summer Cup Winner".
I think he will be a very hard horse to beat in this years July. His win yesterday wasnt just outstanding, it was "Professional".
He is one my fancies , however he is only 108 and should 8/18 run he will be out at the weights against his Capetonian counterpart.
Although at 108 he may be well ahead of the handicapper only MDK team know the answer to this !
