Conversely i am hoping he runs and wins.
Two things, we all aware of how ante post betting rules operate, no explanation needed. More importantly, The rumour that 8 on 18 may not run in the July, did the stable actually make that statement? First time i heard about it, was on ABC. I am of the opinion that Johnno's comments along the lines, no 3 year old has won the Met, Derby, Daily News 2000 and the Champions Cup may have started this conspiracy, but at no point did the stable declare 8 on 18 a doubtful starter.
We also need to be fair.
May your fancy win.

The concern was the size of field and the race is rough and jocks ride very hard so did they want to risk injuring him...That was direct from Snaith after one of his wins

On the lighter side, that must be dippy logic considering he's dad won from draw 20 with a 3 year old, don't believe the jockeys back then were more forgiving. Didn't Pomodoro win fro a wide draw as well as a 3 year old?

You can't compare Legislate with this horse.... He is worth more as a stallion than any of these local races.... I can't recall a stallion like Lancaster Bomber before with so many Gr 1 winners in such a short time so I fully understand why they would not like to risk the horse... so which is more important winning this race or rather the Champions Cup WFA where there are less horses and its not a Handicap

Mr H, was referring to Flaming Rock who won from draw 20/20.
If he wins the July and comes out of that race "unscathed", why not have a go at the Champions Cup? If he wins the July, that would be a record, if he goes on to win the Champions Cup, that may never be repeated in our lifetime - imagine the stud value then!

I see Maujean has been engaged to ride My Best Shot (which I thought might be ridden by Fourie - so one would now think that 8 on 18 is a runner and quoted at 16/10 - as stated the 'when will you let the public now' question is not good for racing) - and Khumalo on On My Honour (shortened to 33/1)

People seem to forget that a part owner is the husband of the owner of Drakenstein Stud so risking breeding horses for stakes money is not their game - I think taking this horse for an overseas campaign might suite them better

I had no problem them messing the public around with 8 of 18 because in my opinion we got better prices within him in the provisional field. If he was scratched to soon most the other would be much shorter.
The owner of 8/18 has a great story to tell about how they named the horse. Maybe he will tell it to the presenters after the horse wins the July.

I see 8/18 now 16/10 WSB. Guess all to comes landed, etc before the final acceptance on Monday and the horse goes 12/10.
Intresting video on YouTube with Andrew Bon, where Richard mentions 8/18 is the in the top 3 that he has ever ridden, and depending on his 4yr old training on could be the best he has ever ridden.
Also it confirm Andrew Fortunes comments about the horse training like a rocket at home.
