My Kazzie fined for prohibited substance

INQUIRY – TRAINER M G AZZIE

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that an inquiry held at its offices in Johannesburg on Wednesday 27 May 2009, Trainer M G Azzie was charged with a contravention of Rule 73.2.4 in that he was the person responsible for the horse MY KAZZIE at the time when a specimen taken from this horse after it participated in the 1st race at Turffontein Racecourse on 11 April 2009, disclosed upon analysis the presence of Clanobutin which is a prohibited substance in terms of the Rules of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa.

Trainer Azzie pleaded guilty to and was found guilty of the charge. The Inquiry Board imposed is a fine of R32 500,00.

Trainer Azzie has the right of appeal against the penalty imposed.

Furthermore, in terms of Rule 72.3.2 MY KAZZIE is disqualified from the race and the provisions of Rule 67.7.8 shall apply.

what is 'clanobutin'?

God knows Jim, but nothing to do with the the "CLAN"
Although after Clan Classique's last race, plenty of the Clan wanted to put the "butin"

My understanding is Clanobutin is used in horses with digestive problems...

It causes the pancrease to produce abnormally high levels of bile...

Not to sure though on how it can impact on the actual performance of the horse if at all...

Perhaps the Clanobutin was meant for Mike Azzie but because of a case of mistaken identity is ended up in My Kazzie's feed????

Will she also lose her hair?

So if I read Gajima's post correctly...My Kazzie was fined for a prohibitive substance that was present in the urine of Mike Azzie????
