SHIFT IN POWER IN CAPE TRAINING RANKS

One swallow doth not a summer make, but Glen Kotzen's great feature double yesterday is the cherry on top of a great season after a slow but relentless trek to the summit for one of the true gentlemen of the game. A strong family pedigree steeped in experience - on both his and in-laws side ............ and what a great humble to touch to remember his late brother Grant (a hugely talented jock who passed away early 1980's)in the post-race interview.

There are many that credit Frikkie 'Attitude' Greyling for his great run but Glen's Cape operation is just as succesful as the KZN branch. Having Frikkie as a lieutenant is a great asset - especially after all Frik learnt from the maestro De Kock.

Think about:

Dean Kannemeyer - 12 Grade 1 winners in his first five years - John Newsome and Laurie Jaffee passing away? A fallout with top Bloodstock man John Freeman?

Joe Ramsden - UK connections aplenty and Cape Champion trainer and a marketing and people genius - seems to have 2 yr old winners but then ....................

Basil Marcus - some nice horses and big owners - but silverware?

Justin Snaith - Great marketing and good results, slightly quiet - he will be back in the summer with 6 winners on Met day!

Mike Bass - trains a horse called Pocket Power - does he have another in the wings?

We have short memories in this game!

A PLAN?

Just on the achievement of BCL..... Is he another horse to pull off records like PP did. It seems he is destined for much greater things. hope they dont switch him to a different yard and off overseas. Next season he is gonna blow them away in the cape,Kzn and Highveld.... watch
