The 'butchering' of the anthem was terrible - some sort of admin f%ck up I'm sure; I suppose the oke tried to 'sing' the anthem and then the Boks tried to play rugby - I thought we were lucky to come that close, I think the boys are tired mentally and physically and will not be surprised if the Azuri gives us a good run as well.

All in all, it was a bad day for SA indeed, we were in front in the cricket until the over that mattered, and then somehow managed to misread either the weather of the DL sheet or both - but at least (in contrast to the rugby) we at least looked like winning from the 2nd over onwards when Loots Bosman started smashing it around.

french are a useless spiteful people. The underground went on strike on the afternoon of the world cup final in 2007. Cost me valuable drinking time on the tube while stuck for 3 hours getting to the stadium

Good point, c n c. Useless people built the Eiffel Tower and the city of Paris and (in part) the Concorde. I think not. No, I'm not French. I'm from the neighbouring state that gave them one in the last soccer World Cup final!

Their government, trade unions etc had weeks and months to sort out their internal problems. Wot happened was plain spite.

When Unions and Governments dont agree then it does not matter if the Pope or visitors from Pluto, Nelson Mandela or the Ayatollah was visiting they would go through with there strikes

I must admit that the French are certainly 1 of a kind. Capable of elegance, flair and romance with a prevailing couldn't care less attitude. Obviously its a massive generalisation but spiteful and stubbornness isn't way off the mark in my book.

My mother is French so I have to be careful what I say now!

Let's say they can be temperamental and unpredictable. I guess that's where their flair comes from.
