not being hard on the commentator! This is 2nd glaring mis-call in the last few meetings; the last time, the horse he called 2nd was nowhere in the 1st four!
The winner was barely mentioned by him..emphasis being on the Ebukhosini & the 3rd horse. He declared the 3rd runner as 2nd.
This was a small field.
Besides, if they are professionals, then call correctly or confirm that the finish is close to call. But, to state outright that a horse won, you are not just shattering someone's dreams, but also, pumping those of others.
Imagine a small, ordinary punter who stands to win a million on the P6. He screams with joy as the commentator calls out his horse a winner!
What a depressed idiot he is when the correct results are given! Some people can commit suicide..and it has happened!
So, what I am saying is: if you have a professional outfit, ensure that it is professional- don't play with the public's (customer's) emotions!
A surgeon cannot chop off the left good leg instead of the right gangrenuous one...and then say, sorry!!!

Umlilo,
Perhaps you can make some suggestions and send them to P/GC as to who you would like to see commentate?
The point I was making is that commentators make mistakes. ANYBODY can make a mistake. Are you not more upset because you had the second horse in your P6? If you had no interest whould you even have noticed?
Let the guys get on with their jobs.
Also not sure if calling a wrong horse home can be likened to a surgeon cutting off the wrong leg............Just a thought

Chopping off the wrong leg is a tad more drastic. So is saying 'I do' when you meant 'I'd rather not.' Lol.

Nope, I had both horses but looked towards a bigger payday! Yep, cuople meetings back, he called a horse for 2nd, yet it ran nowhere. You right, wouldn't have noticed if no bet on! But then.....!
Like some, I am banned from P/GC; they don't bother to respond. I am still waiting on Margaret for feedback/decision about slotting in TellyTrack channel on EasyView- that should say it all! As Andrewest stated 'freedom of speech'!
On a lighter note-
'We got married for better or worse;
he couldn't do better, I couldn't do worse!'
and Magic-
'The shortest sentence is 'I am' and the longest is 'I do'!

For all of those who have been there more than once let me offer my good mate Laff's classic definition of remarrying: swimming back to Alcatraz.
